Top 25 Fantasy Basketball Rankings - Early November 2020
The Sports Watchers is bringing you the top 25 players for your fantasy basketball team.
TheSportsWatchers.com's Fantasy Basketball Rankings are intended to help you play the players who will help you win the most. Sometimes, these are not always the big name players, but the players who are hot, have a long stretch of favorable match-ups or those who are getting more and more playing time. Whatever the reason is, we will let you know.
So using our rankings can give you a good idea of who insert in that fantasy basketball lineup for as long as a week or for even a month. It can clue you in on sleepers. Alternatively, it can help you bench a player who is slowly becoming less and less productive as the season wears on.
Here's the first batch, and make sure you check out our lists for individual positions as well.
Note: Our stats are based on Yahoo default scoring, with the exception of the removal of the "turnover category" in favor of the "assists to turnover ration" category.
1. Kobe Bryant - He might not be a Laker for too long, but wherever he goes, he will still be productive scoring the ball and playing defense, and he will always get you 5+ rebounds per game.
2. ShawnMarion - He is the least heralded of the top 5 players on this list, but he fills up a stat sheet. He always shoots over 50%, which will certainly help your fantasy team, and his free throw percentage is over 80% as well. He will also drop in about one 3-pointer per game at a decent percentage. And of course, there are the 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 1-2 blocks per game he will give your team.
3. Dirk Nowitzki - He is the reigning MVP. His main stats include putting up 25 points per game to with his 9 rebounds. He also shoots 50% from the field and 41% from the 3-point land.
4. KevinGarnett - Some might think his production will drop now that he has 2 other ball hoggers around him, but he has never been reliant upon scoring and he has been filling up the stat sheet all pre-season.
5. Gilbert Arenas - Assuming he is healthy, Arenas is one of the best players in the league, especially for fantasy basketball teams. Everyone just knows him for his 29 points-per-game, but he shoots 42% from the field, 35% from three, will get you 2 steals and 6 assists per game.
6. SteveNash - This guy is just deadly, and if he gave anything on defense, he would be #1 pick in fantasy basketball. Nash's 54% FG-percentage, 46% 3-pt. percentage, and 11.6 assists per game are stats you will not find from any other person in the league. Oh and did I mention that his Assist to Turnover Ratio is over 3?
7. MarcusCamby - He shoots well from the field and from the free throw line. He still manages 10 points per game with an A/T ratio right around 2. And of course, the reigning defensive player of year gets a steal and 3 blocks a game.
8. AmareStoudemire - He may be the best "center in the league," but he does not fill up the stat sheet as well as fantasy players would like him to. That all could change though.
9. LeBronJames - I know you all want to kill me because I have LeBron at #9, but the truth is James could be much more efficient. For somebody who takes a lot of free throw percentage, he will bring your team FT% down. His 3-pt.-percentage is low is as well. However, he makes up for a lot of that with is assists, rebounds and A/T ratio. He probably will not finish at #9, but for right now this is where he starts the season.
10. JasonKidd - The last player to round out the 10, and he might be #1 when it is all said and done (if he is 100% healthy). Kidd is a magician with the ball, and after watching his first pre-season game, I have no doubt that he is ready to come back dominate the stat sheet, especially with that 3.5 A/T turnover.
