Getting Over the Plateau with Turbo Fire

Turbo Fire is an exercise program based on the concept of HIIT Training. It is a winner and has kept me motivated on my own fitness journey!

This program is based on High Intensity Interval Training where you may go as hard and as fast as you can for a minute bringing your heart rate up quickly and then you rest or should I say " breathe" for a minute . I say this because the this kind of interval training takes you to an anerobic zone that typical cardio is unable to do . The results are that you tend to burn fat 9 times faster than you would with regular aerobic activity and when you have completed the work-out, for the next 24 to 48 hours your metabolism has spiked creating and afterburn effect which in turn continues to give you a maximum calorie burn.

I have a history of Polycystic Ovary Disease which makes weight gain very easy and very difficult to take it off because insulin is not able to be utilized in the body effectively as it should causing fat storage. The high intensity interval training that Turbo Fire offers helped greatly to kick my metabolism back into gear and allow me to use insulin more properly. This has been a big bonus for me because I have been able to go down about 3 sizes during the first round. I am about to start my second round as the new year approaches and Turbo Fire has become my addiction. I do not tire of it. I will not lie, there are times I say to myself, " am I really up for this today? " but when I am finished I feel amazing and I feel as though I sweat out a multitude of toxins .It reduces my stress level, helps alleviate many physical symptoms I was dealing with and simply makes me feel as though I am really accomplishing something in taking care of my physical , emotional and spiritual well-being.

Also, Turbo fire incorporates kick boxing, with plyometrics and somewhat dance-like choreography that is very easily learned and makes this work-out not seem like such a work-out if that is possible. It is challenging enough not to become bored but doable enough to modify some of the moves initially if needed until body strength and flexibility is increased. The more you do it, it becomes very clear that changes are happening in your body. You don't need a scale to know the difference, it becomes visible in your reflection in the mirror , in the feeling in your body and the fit of your clothes. I love the way my body feels and the energy I have gained . The music is great as well, many of the songs being from back in the 80's, it is very refreshing and funky . There are also work-outs added to this program that focus on stretching/ yoga , core and toning as well as abdominal work. It is a complete package. And what can I say about Chalene Johnson , the creator and trainer of this program? Well, Chalene is a ball of energy, very inspiring, and personality plus who does not mind letting you see her sweat. It is on dvd but it is done in a classroom type setting that makes you feel a part of the group. I would be hard pressed to loan out this program! I give it an A+. It probably draws the attention of more women but many a man has tried this program and found it to be very effective.
