Make the New Year's Eve party extra-special for your children by inviting them to plan the night's events with you. Consider letting each child invite one friend over for a sleep-over. As a family make a menu of your favorite foods. Is there a special soup or salad you like? Is there a family favorite dish and dessert? Plan the New Year's Eve menu around the family's tastes. Kids can even help you write up a menu.

Sit down as a family and talk about your favorite memories from the year. With older children, you can have them each write down their favorite memory and then the family can guess which memory belongs to which family member.
