How I Trained My Pit Bull Puppy
Training your pit bull puppy can be fun, always start when they're a least three months old on where to poop! and do this by placing newspaper on the spot where you would like them to go. You'll have to do this over and over until...
Before that I would leave her with the mother for about an half hour after feeding so that they could bond, and play, and also to help keep her clean because, her mother would lick and clean her pups with her tongue. At that age usually after they've eaten they just wanted to go to sleep mostly. I would let her sleep next to me on the floor most of the time after that. Her mother would always know when I have one her pups because, she watch them very closely whenever someone picks one up she was very protected of them, as any mother would be. When she sees that I'm not hurting her she's OK with it because, she has more pups to attend to.
After training your pit bull puppy where to poop! it's now time to train them on other things as well, like how to obey you .things like "come here, stay, sit, stop, jump, rollover", and just to come to you no matter what they see outside, and just to learn their name when you give a command like "come, and stay" they should know that you're talking to them, and they should come running every time you call them. My pit bull puppy will come to me if I just snap my fingers without saying a word, and she knows when she have done wrong just by the way I look at her. Teach them to come, and stay, that is very important because when you're outside you don't want them to run across the street whenever they want to.
The most important thing to remember, is that you should train your pit bull puppy just like you would any other dog. My pit bull puppy will not bark if someone I know comes, and knock on my door. I can always tell if it's someone I know by the way she behaves at the door. She will not attack if someone I know comes up to me to have a conversation, she knows that it's someone I like so she's friendly to them as well. She knows when something is not a treat to me so she behaves well. Try to put them on a eating schedule so they'll know when it's time to eat or go outside, and that's usually right after she have eaten, that is when she would always need to poop! outside. How I trained my pit bull puppy, that was easy as she got a little bit older, she understood more, plus she still has her mother who was also teaching her things, she would watch how her mother react to certain things, but, she may not always be around her mother so, that is why you start teaching your pit bull puppy around three to four months old what to do, and teach your pit bull puppy who you are to.
You have all the control over your pit bull puppy, so you should make sure they understand. And never leave your dog no matter what type of pet you have around small children's unattended. My pit bull never jumps on me because I don't allow that so, she knows not to do that. Just never let them do that unless you want them to because, if you do they will always think they suppose to do that, avoid eye contact and turn away when you don't want them to jump on you. Mostly your pit bull puppy will just follow you around the house to protect you and will lay by your side just like any other dog, unless you say "stay", if you get up.
The idea behind letting her sleep next to me is so that she can get my scent and know my smell. And so that she can get to know me, and know that I'm someone that will not hurt her and will keep her safe just like her mother would. At four months old I started giving her puppy food because at that age she had teeth and was able to chew and drink water. I would teach her things like come to me, and also, I would put newspaper down so that she could start learning how to go on the paper and most of the time she did. They usually know what the paper is for at that age after she sniff it, she knows that she suppose to go on that paper, if she doesn't go on the paper you should bring her back to where she pooped! and let her smell it, and than tell your puppy "don't do that bad dog" when you tell her this be very firm and demand it, let her know you mean business, and than put her on the paper where you want her to go, and do that every time she poops! in a place she didn't supposed to until she gets the hang of it.
That is just for training your pit bull puppy to go on the newspaper, at four to five months you can start to take them outside but, still keep the newspaper down just in case of accidents. At that age they still don't fully under where to go and where you don't want them to poop!. At five months they'll start to understand where they should go, and by than they're trained.
