Get Moving in 2020 with the Best Workout Songs of the Past Decade

The best songs to choose are those that allow for proper warm up and cool down, optimizing your workout. Raise your heartbeat to quickly or not enough and you will not be getting the most out of your workout. Your body will naturally keep tempo to the music you listen to during your workout. To help you get started, I've compiled a list of my must-have workout songs.
1.) Lose Yourself - Eminem (2002) : The inspiration that can be found in the lyrics of this song is priceless. Accompany it with a catchy beat, and you will find yourself lost in the song and possibly forgetting that you are working out altogether.
2.) Stronger - Kanye West (2020) : This song has some great upbuilding lyrics, especially if you can get past Kanye's egotism. He is after all building himself up in the song. Beyond that, the tempo is great for a variety of cardio workouts and pumping iron.
3.) Supermassive Black Hole - Muse (2020) : For some of you this song may make you picture a group of super attractive vampires playing baseball. But for those of you who have loved Muse before they were featured on the Twilight soundtrack, this song will still get your heart racing.
4.) Burn It To The Ground - Nickelback (2020) : Known to be one of Nickelback's "heavier" songs. Like many of their other songs this one has a catchy beat and lyrics that are sure to get stuck in your head.
5.) Dance, Dance - Fall Out Boy (2005) : There is no question as to why this song has been featured in numerous video games. It's a keeper. If this song doesn't get you up and dancing, I don't know what will.
6.) Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall (2005) : Here's an odd tid-bit about this song. Not only has it been featured in various motion pictures, but it was also one of Hillary Clinton's campaign songs during her Presidential race. Great inspirational lyrics and, you guessed it, a captivating beat.
7.) Say It Right - Nelly Furtado (2020) : This contempo jam has a hypnotic beat and cool synths. This song is a personal favorite of mine while weight training.
8.) Viva La Vida - Coldplay (2020) : The lyrics may contain historical references, but the repeating string section and percussion background are sure to keep you motivated during any workout.
9.) Undead - Hollywood Undead (2020) : A fairly new band of the decade, Hollywood Undead's rap rock style is perfect for breaking a sweat to.
10.) Joker and a Thief - Wolf Mother (2020) : This song is fun. From the lyrics to the interesting musical structure.
A super motivating, get your body moving playlist is a very personal thing. What works for one, might not work for another. While we all have varied tastes in music, you have to start somewhere. My recommendation is make a playlist on your mp3 player and hit the gym. Pay attention to the songs that really get you grooving and make the time fly by. Not feeling some of the songs? Keep trying. You may be surprised what gets you moving. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2020 and beyond.
