These are simple quotes to ponder over. Being a leader is important in every walk of life. So read and lead.
So without any more extra words to fill the quota of 400 words, I give you. Wait, lets add in some extra words of blah blah blah. Just kidding. Or am I?
Here are my top five leadership quotes.
The best example of leadership is leadership by example.
This is a classic. Everyone should have this somewhere in his or her house. It is not only common sense but also great sense. To live by this quote is to live a life of proper leadership always.
When nothing is sure, everything is possible.
This is a basic concept that I feel all leaders should understand and hold close to heart. This concept teaches one the art of optimism. It is very important for a leader to maintain a high level of optimism with the understanding of pragmatism. To be honest, most people run around scare of the unknown. It is a leader's job to provide guidance for his or her followers. It is a good leader's goal to lead his or her followers into unknown areas, which hold the promise of a better future. This concept is just amazing.
The real leader has no need to lead - he is content to point the way.
This is a brilliant quote. When one looks at where leaders go wrong, this quote really hits the nail on the head. A lot of bad leaders are such because they feel the need to always lead. Its can be a difficult concept to grasp but at times the best leadership is to be a followers. Great leaders cultivate a culture of leaders. They let their followers take the lead in areas they excel. It is good to keep this quote in mind during any leadership. It is simple yet it is brilliant in that it helps create an environment where a leader becomes more than a leader. He becomes a teacher, a mentor as well as a coach.
The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men the conviction and will to carry on. The genius of a good leader is to leave behind him a situation which common sense, without the grace of genius, can deal with successfully.
The first half of this quote goes back to the concept of cultivating leaders. Power for power's sake is the quickest path to a destructive leadership. A good leader understands that he can't be the leader forever. He might lose the expertise it takes to lead or he might just want to do something else. So he knows it is important to bring leaders up around him. So when he does leave the post of leader, he will have peace of mind that there are people to continue the work he started.
The second half of this quote can seem redundant in relation to the first half of the quote. It would seem common sense that cultivating leaders will naturally create a situation that once a leader leaves, the work he started will naturally continue. Yes and No. Yes, to cultivate leaders will allow for the work to continue. But it takes a pretty smart person to continue someone's work and give it extra jazz to make it better. Point being, it really doesn't happen that often. A great leader understands people hence he understands that not every one has the ability to create brilliant things. So to ensure that things continue smoothly after he is gone, he must take time to set up a system where it is easy to understand the vision and purpose of the work that is being done. This allows for people to know their direction. Also if it so happens that the next leader has the genius to create brilliant things. The following leader's work is made easier. The work can continue gracefully as well as become better depending on the following leader.

This is a top tier quote. It boils down what leadership is truly all about: constant improvement of self. Every leader must understand that who they are internally matters greatly. Followers must look at their leader and agree that he deserves to be their leader. They must trust his integrity and personality. A leader can have great ideas but they don't mean anything unless his followers trust him enough to entertain and follow through with it.
For a leader to come with great ideas, he must constantly adapt and learn. He must constantly be looking for better understanding of himself and the world around him. No one is born a leader just as no one is born a genius. It takes work. One must make an internal choice to become a leader and follow through with what it takes to do so.
This is a brilliant quote to take home, sleep with and proceed to have babies with. It is that good.
